RINJANI TREKKING

Mount Rinjani is Indonesia’s second-tallest volcano

What to Expect

Located just over 100 kilometers away from Bali separated by Lombok Strait, the 4,514sqm island of Lombok is easily accessible either by fastboat or by taking a 45-minute flight. It is also accessible via direct flights from Jakarta or Surabaya. Lombok is conveniently connected by direct flights to many other great destinations nearby, such as Singapore, Perth and Kuala Lumpur; making the island a perfect addition to any tour of the surrounding area.

Blessed with beautiful white sandy beaches, enchanting waterfalls, great surf, abundant marine life, hiking trails through rice fields and the looming volcano; travelling around Lombok is a journey from mountain peak to coral coast; through tranquil villages, ancient cultural traditions and thriving settlements. With fewer tourists and a noticeably different atmosphere, Lombok offers something different compared to the neighboring island of Bali.

Mount Rinjani is Indonesia’s second-tallest volcano. Dominating the landscape of Lombok at 3,726 metres tall with its dazzling crater lake at the summit, the mountain’s sacred peak attracts pilgrims from the local Sasak tribes and Hindus from neighbouring Bali. Rinjani is also growing in popularity amongst international tourists, who trek the volcanic slopes in search of adventures and otherworldly scenery.
