Aqua Luna Selini Takes to the Sea
29 August 2017 | Written by Chris Alexander

There can be no better way to experience the breathtaking wonders of Komodo National Park and appreciate its raw, rugged beauty, than by traditional Phinisi sailing boat.

Aqua Luna Selini is one such vessel, setting sail from Flores for adventures on the high seas. Guests can choose from one-day, two-day and three-day trips from Labuan Bajo to the surrounding islands, opting to overnight onboard on the latter two voyages.

The sailboat boasts four spacious cabins with fans and one cabin with air-conditioning, along with two fully equipped bathrooms with running hot and cold water, toilets and sinks, a kitchen, dining area and relaxing areas decorated with cushions and throw pillows; perfect for sun-bathing, relaxing or simply sitting back to enjoy the ocean views.

Excursions can be arranged to Bidadari, Rinca, Padar, Pink Beach, Manta Point, Kalong, Kanawa and Gili Lawa. During the expeditions, guests can snorkel in the famous clear waters of the national park, where there are over 1,000 species of fish and 350 reef-building corals. Adventurers can also visit coves, islands and quaint fishing villages from the comforts of the Aqua Luna. During trips, the ship’s crew will pamper guests with meals, drinks and the warm hospitality for which the area is famous.

Phinisi are superb vessels, made and sailed for centuries in Indonesia; emblematic of the adventures one can find in the vast open seascapes of the world’s largest archipelago.
