Indonesia’s national flag carrier Garuda Indonesia has been named Airline of the Year at the 2017 Indonesia Travel and Tourism Awards (ITTA).
The award is the seventh of its kind received by Garuda Indonesia at the annual event, a testament to the airline’s consistency in delivering an operational excellence in service to its passengers.
Garuda Indonesia Marketing Director Nina Sulistyowati confirmed via press release that the award forms part of the airline’s commitment to support the government in developing Indonesia’s tourism sector, towards the ultimate goal of attracting 20 million foreign tourists by 2019.
“In line with ITTA’s commitment to create awareness about the importance of quality service in the travel and tourism industry, the airline continuously tries to improve its services as well as operations, ensuring a convenient flight experience for passengers,” said Nina.
The ITTA’s winners are selected based on a combination of online voting and a committee made up of experts from across the travel and tourism industry. The awards have been held every year since 2010.
