Garuda Set to Offer New Flights to Bali from Mumbai
26 March 2018 | Written by Chris Alexander

Starting from 23rd April 2018, Garuda Indonesia will open a brand-new route connecting Mumbai in India to Bali in Indonesia.

The new service will initially commence operations with a twice-weekly schedule during a trial period until 28th May, after which point the schedule will be expanded to offer three flights each week until 27th October. The new service has been opened to accommodate the growing number of Indian tourists who choose Indonesia – and Bali in particular – as their holiday destination. Flights will operate throughout the summer high season and are scheduled to depart on Mondays, Thursdays and Saturdays.

“The Denpasar-Mumbai route is very good; the potential for growth in tourism numbers is very big,” explained Joseph Saul, who is the General Manager of Garuda for Bali. “The Indian market is also not affected by news about the eruption of Mount Agung. The Indians are very stable and this is an important point,” added Mr. Saul.

The Indonesian Tourism Minister, Arief Yahya, has expressed his thanks to Garuda Indonesia for operating the new service, and expects other airlines to add similar new routes connecting Indonesia with the sub-continent.

Garuda’s new Mumbai-Denpasar flights will be serviced by Airbus A330-200 aircraft, each providing 186 economy seats and 36 business class seats.
