Garuda To Resume Direct London Flights
07 December 2018 | Written by Chris Alexander

In response to high demand from a growing customer base in the United Kingdom, Garuda Indonesia will resume its non-stop service between London and Jakarta, starting from 13th December 2018. Indonesia’s national flag carrier had discontinued the route on 30th October.

“The number of British tourists coming to Indonesia has shown a significant increase, which shows a promising market,” said Garuda director Ari Askhara in a recent statement to the Jakarta Post. The airline has also confirmed that the decision was taken as part of a wider plan to expand and strengthen their international networks.

The London-Jakarta route will be served by Boeing 777-300 ER dual class aircraft three times a week, on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays. Starting 27th November 2018, Garuda began operating out of London Heathrow Airport Terminal 4 Zone F.

The Jakarta-London flight is scheduled to depart from Soekarno Hatta International Airport, Tangerang, at 12:05 p.m. and will arrive at Heathrow Airport at 8 p.m. local time. Meanwhile, the London-Jakarta flights are scheduled to depart at 9:55 p.m. and arrive at 7:10 p.m. local time.
