Koral: Introducing Bali’s First Aquarium Dining Experience
27 December 2019 | Written by Chris Alexander

The Apurva Kempinski Bali is welcoming guests to enjoy a unique underwater dining experience at their new restaurant, named Koral. The highly-anticipated new aquarium-style eatery is the first of its kind in Bali, where diners are surrounded by the soothing ambiance and eye-catching beauty of an underwater world.

Koral takes its inspiration from the tropical character of Bali and the great Indonesian seafaring empire known as Majapahit. The restaurant serves a range of elegant dishes, infused with Indonesian coastal flavours and crafted using locally sourced ingredients. The addition of a hypnotic soundtrack adds to the otherworldly ambiance of the restaurant, and captures the magic and mystery of life below the waves.

“As Bali’s first underwater restaurant, Koral promises something completely unique,” says Vincent Guironnet, who is General Manager at The Apurva Kempinski Bali. “Our bistronomic concept combines all aspects of the dining experience, with elegant dishes inspired by local flavours, a warm and welcoming ambiance and the one-of-a-kind opportunity to dine inside a tropical aquarium.”

“With a growing collection of outstanding restaurants, bars and lounges spread across the resort, The Apurva Kempinski Bali is quickly cementing its reputation as one of the leading culinary destinations on the Island of the Gods,” added Mr. Guironnet.

Located in Bali’s upmarket Nusa Dua area, The Apurva Kempinski Bali first opened in February 2019 and has since set about redefining luxury on the island. This five-star resort presents itself as a majestic open-air theatre, comprising 475 iconic rooms, suites and villas, many with their own private plunge pools. From unique culinary journeys and indigenous spa treatments, to spacious meeting rooms and now an unforgettable dining aquarium, The Apurva Kempinski Bali is a stage where the remarkable happens.

Koral Restaurant is open from 18:30 – 23:00. 24-hour advanced reservation is recommended.
