Panorama Destination Sustainability Partnership With Travelife
08 November 2017 | Written by Chris Alexander

London, 8th November 2017 – Panorama Destination (PDES) has been officially certified as a Travelife partner. Renato Domini, CEO of Panorama Destination collected the award yesterday (7/11) at the World Travel Market (WTM) in London.

Travelife is a training, management and certification initiative for tourism companies committed to reaching ambitious sustainability targets. They collaborate with travel businesses around the world to improve their social, economic and environmental impacts, helping to make holidays more sustainable.

Panorama Destination’s partnership with Travelife is an indication of the company’s dedication to sustainability in its operations – from energy and water use, to staff contracts, interactions with local communities and collaboration with suppliers. Panorama Destination is committed to ethical and environmentally friendly practices; green, clean travelling with a clear conscience and a tangible connection to local communities.

In order to receive Travelife partner certification, Panorama Destination has produced a detailed mission statement and action plan for the integration of sustainable practices in its operations, whilst also conducting a baseline review. The company recently appointed a Sustainability Coordinator and hired a full-time Sustainability Manager, based in Bali, who will monitor company operations and report to the CEO in order to continually improve practices relating to sustainability. These actions, indicative of the company’s commitment to sustainable tourism, have resulted in Travelife partner certification.

When asked what the partnership means to him and the company, Renato Domini had this to say: “On a practical level, Travelife certification means that all company operations have been audited, developed and certified as environmentally friendly, ethical and sustainable,” said Renato. “Crucially, it also means that clients who travel with Panorama Destination can rest assured they are contributing to a positive interaction between tourism and the environment,” he continued.

World Travel Market London is the leading global event for the travel industry, bringing together 51,000 travel industry professionals from 5,000 destinations, for a three-day event that generates more than £2.8 billion of business contracts between attendees. Now in its 37th year, the show draws together a global audience under one roof, enabling industry leaders to discuss trends, issues and innovations that shape the travel industry.
