The most important of these includes Tanah Lot, a beautiful Hindu shrine that sits on a rocky outcrop just off the shore at Beraban. Surrounded by sea the temple is accessible on foot only at low tide. Another famous sea temple, pura luhur uluwatu sits on a cliff top 70 meters above the waves. Along with ancient architecture, the temple offers spectacular ocean and sunset views. Besakih is a grand complex of clan temples and shrines on the slopes of mount agung. It is the largest and holiest of the island’s temples and takes a full day to explore the entire temple complex.
