Air Arabia has announced that, starting from 1st July 2019, it will operate direct flights from Sharjah in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) to Kuala Lumpur in Malaysia. The new daily service will become the first direct flight in the region offered by a low-cost carrier.

“We are pleased to add Kuala Lumpur to our global network of more than 155 destinations,” said Adel Al Ali, who is the Group CEO for Air Arabia, in a statement to confirm the new flights. “This beautiful city is a tremendous addition to Air Arabia’s network and we are confident it will contribute further to the strong tourism and trade ties between the UAE and Malaysia.” He continued.

The flights will be offered every day of the week. Flights on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays will set off from Sharjah International Airport at 14:55 local time, then arrive at Kuala Lumpur International Airport at 02:25 local time. The return leg for each flight departs Kuala Lumpur International Airport at 03:35, arriving in Sharjah at 06:50 local time.

In addition, flights operating on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays will depart Sharjah at 21:20 local time and arrive at Kuala Lumpur International Airport at 08:50 local time. The return flights depart Kuala Lumpur at 09:55, arriving in Sharjah at 13:10 local time.

“We look forward to the start of the new flights, [providing] our customers with a great value for money option to travel between both countries,” concluded Adel Al Ali.

Air Arabia is the Middle East and North Africa’s first and largest Low-Cost Carrier, currently flying to over 155 destinations across the Middle East, North Africa, Asia and Europe. Kuala Lumpur is a city that’s growing in popularity among travellers from the Middle East, thanks in part to its excellent range of shopping options, impressive transport links, multicultural population and historical sites.
