La Serre: A Record-Breaking Touch of Glass
12 November 2019 | Written by Chris Alexander

The “La Serre Glasshouse” at Chateau Spa & Organic Wellness Resort has been officially named ‘Malaysia’s Biggest Wedding & Event Glasshouse’ by the Malaysia Book of Records.

Mr Jwan Heah, who is the Director of Marketing for Malaysia Book of Records, presented the award certificate to Ms Chryseis Tan, Executive Director of Berjaya Land Berhad at an event witnessed by Mohammadin Bin Haji Ketapi, who is Malaysia’s Director of the Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture; and Chief Operating Officer of Berjaya Hotels & Resorts, Mr Foo Toon Kee.

“We are very honoured to receive the ‘Malaysia’s Biggest Wedding & Event Glasshouse’ award by the Malaysia Book of Records,” said Mr Foo Toon Kee. “This is a new milestone and an additional recognition after our ‘Longest Flying Fox Zip-line in Southeast Asia’ achievement in year 2013,” he added.

La Serre, which literally means ‘glasshouse’ in French, is a European-inspired wedding conservatory that offers a sophisticated and romantic atmosphere for wedding ceremonies. The venue is also developing a reputation among domestic and international couples as a backdrop for weddings that are both unique and awe-inspiring. Along with elegant architecture that’s characterised by floor-to-ceiling glass panels, the venue is complemented by a wide expanse of gardens and benefits from generous natural lighting.

The record-breaking glasshouse covers a total of 585.29 square metres and can comfortably accommodate around 350 people. With a retractable roof, 10-metre LED projection screen, glitzy crystal chandeliers and in-built audio system, La Serre is also a renowned corporate venue, capable of hosting large-scale business events with a touch of class.

The Chateau Spa & Organic Wellness Resort is perched 3,000 feet above sea level, in over 16,000 acres of verdant greenery overlooking Colmar Tropicale – a French-themed village resort in the Berjaya Hills of Pahang in Malaysia.
