Malaysia Airlines Becomes First Airline in Malaysia to Introduce WhatsApp
19 September 2018 | Written by Chris Alexander

Malaysia Airlines has launched its official presence on WhatsApp, enabling customers to receive their flight booking confirmation and flight status directly through the messaging app. The national carrier is the first airline in Malaysia and one of only several in the world to integrate with WhatsApp Business solutions.

As part of its mission to enhance digitalisation, the addition of WhatsApp takes Malaysia Airlines’ recent digital solutions to four; alongside MHguardian, MHfeedback and MHchat, released in April. Malaysia Airlines will continue to offer more services in the future and allow its guests to receive important updates such as check-in, schedule and other operational notifications via the messaging app. This new platform is offered in addition to the airline’s traditional methods of communication of email and SMS.

“We are extremely excited to be the first in Malaysia and one of the first few airlines in the world to offer this new service on WhatsApp,” said Malaysia Airlines’ Group Chief Executive Officer Izham Ismail. “The new service will go a long way towards enhancing the customer experience for today’s always connected customers,” he continued.

WhatsApp is one of the world’s most popular messaging applications, with more than 1.5 billion users worldwide. By utilizing this application, Malaysia Airlines is hoping to make its services more convenient and user-friendly than ever before.

Malaysia Airlines customers can opt-in to this service by sending a WhatsApp message to the number +603 8777 4570 or by clicking this link, http://bit.ly/mhwhatsapp
