Bangkok Airways Signs Codeshare Agreement With El Al of Israel
26 February 2018 | Written by Chris Alexander

El Al Israel Airlines has signed a codeshare agreement with Bangkok Airways covering nine routes in Thailand and neighbouring countries. The agreement means that El Al will be able to sell and service flights to popular tourist destinations in Thailand. Codeshare flights operated by Bangkok Airways will be made available to El Al passengers in combination with a fare sold on the Tel Aviv-Bangkok route.

El Al passengers can transfer seamlessly to Bangkok Airways’ flights out of the Bangkok Suvarnabhumi hub to popular locations such as Samui, Chiang Rai, Chiang Mai, Lampang, Trat (Chang Island) and Sukhothai. Furthermore, El Al passengers can be ticketed through to neighbouring countries such as Vietnam and Cambodia, using Bangkok Airways’ regional flights.

The domestic and regional flights under the codeshare will display the El Al (LY) four-digit designator codes. This codeshare agreement will cover nine of Bangkok Airways routes to both domestic and international destinations. El Al is currently flying a direct service from Tel Aviv to Bangkok six days a week. This frequency is expected to be reduced to four flights weekly in April.
