US News Travel has released its annual list of “World’s Best Places to Visitâ€, in which Phuket gets into the top 10 destinations of 2019. One of Thailand’s most famed islands, Phuket is the highest-placed Asian destination in the list.
In determining the most remarkable destinations around the world, US News Travel combines expert opinions, current trends and user votes. The website also considers landscape beauty, cultures, food scenes and more, to compile the list.
Phuket has been named eighth in the top ten destinations, ahead of USA’s Grand Canyon and the Maldives. The awards describe Phuket as “a little piece of paradise with white sands, aquamarine waters and limestone cliffs.â€
According to US News Travel, Phuket offers a low price tag for everything, from its accommodation to spa treatments and boat tours. Phuket is also well-known for its flavourful cuisine, with Phuket Town holding the status of UNESCO City of Gastronomy. Another thing to experience in Phuket is its rich culture, heavily influenced by Buddhism.
