06 December 2019 | Written by Chris Alexander

For exploration with a vintage twist, The Anantara Golden Triangle Elephant Camp & Resort in Northern Thailand is rolling out out two Royal Enfield Classic 500 motorcycles with sidecars.

The resort and camp boasts panoramic views of the Mekong and Ruak rivers, where Thailand, Laos and Myanmar converge in an area known as the Golden Triangle. In this picturesque landscape, guests can see elephants bathing and grazing in their natural habitat, and also set off on an adventurous road trip to remember.

Easy riders at the resort can reserve the Royal Enfield sidecars, along with a driver, for excursions into the surrounding countryside. The tour includes a guided visit to the Giant Golden Buddha in nearby Chiang Sean, along with a local market and several ancient Lanna sites. Guests can also drive to the scenic mountain region of Doi Tung at the very northern tip of Thailand.

The tour opens up to 650,000m² of Northern Thailand’s jungle for exploration, on a journey that combines Thailand’s natural beauty with classic British engineering and timeless old-school charm. The Anantara Golden Triangle is the only resort to offer this unique travel experience to its guests.

Prices for the Royal Enfield Sidecar tours at The Anantara Golden Triangle Elephant Camp & Resort start from 3,000 baht (US$99) per hour.

The Anantara Golden Triangle Elephant Camp & Resort is an award-winning elephant camp, home to scientific research projects and conservation programmes for Thailand’s pachyderms. The resort’s unique location, in a tranquil jungle setting, offers views overlooking Thailand, Laos and Myanmar. The resort features 40 rooms and 15 suites, including 6 family suites. In addition to the Royal Enfield Sidecar experience, guests can enjoy a range of all-inclusive discovery packages that combine elephant encounters, spa treatments, cooking class and cultural discovery.
