18 September 2018 | Written by Chris Alexander

UK-based hotel operator Travelodge has confirmed it will open a new branch in Thailand, scheduled to open for business in 2020. Travelodge Phuket Town will be the company’s first outlet in Phuket, following on from the success of Travelodge Pattaya and Travelodge Sukhumvit Bangkok.

Featuring a total of 159 rooms decorated in Travelodge’s signature neutral tones and fitted with contemporary timber furniture, the newest hotel will also include exclusive spaces designed to provide guests with added privacy during their stay.  In addition to The Lodge, Travelodge Phuket Town will include an all-day dining restaurant, a fitness centre and a large swimming pool. Conveniently located next to Central Festival Phuket, it will provide guests with easy access to shopping centres, attractions and the many entertainment options for which Phuket town is famous.

“Following the debut of the Travelodge brand in Thailand in mid-2017, Travelodge Phuket Town represents our continued commitment to expanding the brand’s footprint throughout Thailand,” said Jonathan Wigley, the CEO of Travelodge, Thailand, in a recent statement. “We are confident that Travelodge Phuket Town will offer guests a ‘value stay’ with the brand’s exceptional hospitality, fuss-free quality and trendy living ethos that is consistently provided across all Travelodge properties,” he continued.

With more than 30 sandy beaches to choose from and a wide array of restaurants and bars, Phuket remains one of Thailand’s most popular destinations. Travelodge’s newest property represents part of the group’s ongoing strategy for expansion in Asia; in addition to Phuket, Travelodge has confirmed plans for two new properties in Kuala Lumpur and is soon expected to break new ground in Vietnam.
