What to Expect

A three-day culinary adventure with Indonesian food as the star, the Ubud Food Festival is Southeast Asia’s leading culinary event showcasing Indonesia’s diverse cuisine, innovative chefs and extraordinary local produce. Returning for the third year from 12 – 14 May 2017 with the theme ‘Every flavor is a story’; UFF2017 celebrates Indonesia’s culinary heritage, in which every ingredient, recipe and culinary tradition tells a story of the archipelago’s history, geography and diverse cultures.

Across the Festival’s three-day program, members of the culinary industry and food lovers alike will unpack flavors, traditions and regional influences to deepen their understanding of not just what food tells us – but of the stories we tell through food. Expect to meet and learn from top celebrated chefs and culinary icons from Indonesia and abroad such as Bo Songvisava and Dyland Jones of Bo.lan restaurant (Thailand), Locavore’s team representing Indonesia, chef Chele Gonzales of Gallery VASK (Philippines), chef Joannes Riviere of Wat Damnak (Cambodia), chef Manjunath Mural of The Song of India (Singapore), dessert queen Karen Charlotta, culinary trendsetter Andhika Maxi (Union boutique dining), AMKC Atelier and Izakaya Kai, pioneer of Indonesian TV cooking and cookbooks author Sisca Soewitomo, Indonesian culinary expert and reviewer Bondan Winarno; and many more.
