Mövenpick Opens New Resort in Phu Quoc
06 March 2020 | Written by Chris Alexander

Phu Quoc’s idyllic Ong Lang Beach is set to welcome its first premium international resort, with the opening of the new Mövenpick Resort Waverly Phu Quoc.

With a total of 305 guestrooms, the property is ideal for family holidays, weddings, honeymoons and business trips. Just next door, Mövenpick Residences Phu Quoc offers an additional 329 apartment-style residences and 79 pool villas.

“This opening represents an evolution of the Mövenpick brand in Vietnam, and we are delighted to introduce our Swiss heritage and rich culinary legacy to the tropical shores of Phu Quoc,” said Patrick Basset, who is the CCO of Accor, Upper Southeast & Northeast Asia and the Maldives.

Each of the rooms benefit from an abundance of natural light, thanks to a combination of full-sized windows and floor-to-ceiling glass doors that lead to private balconies with views of mountains and the ocean. Rooms range from 35 to 72 sqm, with modern in-room comforts as standard; all include complimentary high-speed WiFi, a pillow menu and a fully-stocked minibar.

Mövenpick Residences Phu Quoc offers a choice of studios and family rooms, each equipped with a convenient kitchenette. Additionally, there are 66 two-bedroom and three-bedroom pool villas available, all encircling a scenic lake. The resort also provides 12 three-bedroom pool villas, along with a Presidential Villa, which benefits from outstanding beachfront views.

Owned by AccorHotels since September 2018, Mövenpick Hotels & Resorts is a Swiss hotel management company headquartered in Baar, Switzerland. The group currently operates over 80 properties, including hotels, resorts and Nile cruisers, with another 30 resorts planned or under construction across the Middle East and Asia. The hotel chain serves 5.8 million people per year, and in 2003 was named the “fastest growing hotel chain in the Middle East” by The World Travel Market.
