Panorama Destination Vietnam Achieves Travelife Partner Status
20 April 2020 | Written by Chris Alexander

In recognition of its commitment to sustainability and Corporate Social Responsibility, Panorama Destination Vietnam has become only the ninth organization nationwide to be awarded Travelife Partner status, and the third Panorama Destination branch to achieve this accolade. The award was officially confirmed by Travelife in Amsterdam on 17th April, 2020.

Travelife is the world’s leading international sustainability certification body for the travel sector, established with the support of the European Commission and dedicated to achieving sustainable practices within the tourism industry.  The Travelife standard covers environment, biodiversity, human rights and labour relations; and is formally recognised as being in full compliance with the UN-supported Global Sustainable Tourism Criteria.

“We are delighted to have been officially recognised as a partner by Travelife,” says Mr. Trang Kim Tuong, who is Panorama Destination’s Country Manager for Vietnam. “Sustainability is central to our operations in destinations throughout Vietnam; we have a number of new products coming soon that have been designed to showcase the natural and cultural wonders of the country, and to enhance the positive impact of tourism in these regions,” he added.

In order to be an official Travelife Partner, Panorama Destination Vietnam first had to comply with more than 100 criteria related to operators’ office management, product range, international business partners and customer information. Companies can only obtain “Travelife Partner” status after submitting a report in compliance with the Travelife standard, based on an independent onsite audit.

“I am delighted to see that sustainability in the tour operators sector is obtaining momentum,” said Mr Naut Kusters, manager of Travelife for tour operators, following confirmation of the award. “The award of the front runner Panorama Destination Vietnam will inspire other companies in Vietnam to follow the same path,” he added.

Panorama Destination Vietnam becomes the company’s third regional office to achieve Partner status with Travelife; the company’s Indonesia operations were the first to be awarded in 2017 (although this has now expired, the company is currently working with Travelife to renew its partnership), followed by Panorama Destination Thailand in 2019. Panorama Destination Malaysia is currently working to achieve the same sustainable standards in its operations.

“Panorama Destination’s guiding principles and performance indicators are designed to lead destination managers, communities and businesses on a path to sustainability,” says Renato Domini, who is the CEO of Panorama Destination. “Panorama Destination works closely with local communities to create sustainable products within less explored areas. All products and packages created by Panorama Destination reflect our focus on sustainability,” he continued.
