What to Expect

This eclectic and unforgettable tour takes you to some of the Kingdom’s most captivating sites, using the latest green technology and transport solutions to ensure your carbon footprint is kept as light as possible. On your eco-friendly travels, you will explore Thailand’s ancient Kingdom, buzz through the modern capital, discover blissful northern Buddhist temples, meet fascinating hill tribes and relax on irresistible tropical island beaches. Along the way, you will get an idea of the amazing cultural complexity that makes Thailand one of the world’s favourite travel destinations.

What You Will Do

Day 1

Bangkok Arrival – Sunset Drinks and Night Tour

Following your arrival at Suvarnabhumi Airport in Bangkok, you will be met by our friendly and licensed representative. Transfer in your carbon-free electric car to your selected hotel in Bangkok.

In the evening, depart from your hotel at approximately 5pm. Travel by LPG-powered vehicle to the nearest BTS Station into the city centre. Experience the public sky train in metropolitan Bangkok to the river pier, then board an express boat to Flower Market (or Pak Klong Talad); one of the world's best flower markets and the third biggest orchid flower market in the world. Flowers on sale include roses, lotus, classic pinks, calendulas, lilies, jasmine and orchids. Moreover, there are flower and garland arrangement services and flower arrangement equipment for sale.

Take a short tuk-tuk ride to one of the riverside rooftop bars for a sunset cocktail. Above the rooftop are breath-taking panoramic views of Chao Phraya River, Wat Arun and Wat Pho - two of the city’s most iconic temples. Continue by tuk-tuk from there to join the locals at Chinatown, where you will find a selection of traditional dishes for dinner. Along the way, we will also grab some Thai street snacks and sweets before returning to the hotel.

Day 2

Bangkok – Bike Tour in Urban Oasis: Bang Krachao

(B/L/D)

Following breakfast at hotel, you will be picked up and transferred by LPG-powered vehicle across the river to a paradise of lush tropical vegetation and a slower, more traditional pace of life. Ride a bike through local communities, passing traditional villages and houses. You would never believe you are still within the Bangkok city limits!

Discover tropical fruits and flowers along the way as the trail leads to an ancient temple. The peeled-off paint reveals the underlying bricks hints at the age of the temple, built many centuries ago.

Next, cross the river by local boat. From there, it's a combination of minor roads and elevated pathways, through temple gardens and tropical jungle with no hills. The elevated canal pathways may not be suitable for those afraid of heights, but we think these add to the adventure! Local lunch will be served here.
After the tour, we will return to the hotel for leisure time and dinner will be served here.

Day 3

Bangkok – City Temples and Ayutthaya Transfer

After breakfast, start your journey in Bangkok, travelling by LPG-powered vehicle to the nearest BTS Station on the Chao Praya Central Pier. Continue to travel along the waterway to visit city temples and enjoy a captivating experience of culture, art, architecture and history in Thailand’s colourful capital, with local insights from your private and professional guide.

Begin with a visit to the Grand Palace, which has served as the official residence of Thai kings since 1782. Comprising several halls, pavilions and courtyards, the palace complex is one of the most beautiful examples of the Siamese court, adorned with glittering gold lacquer and glass mosaics. Walk around the compound to see the Throne Hall, the Coronation Hall, the Reception Palace and the Funeral Palace. Pay homage to Thailand's most revered religious image in the ornately decorated Temple of the Emerald Buddha, also called Wat Phra Kaew.

After lunch in a local restaurant, explore Bangkok by using an electric & sustainable tuk-tuk. The first stop will be at Phra Sumeru Fortress on the bank of the Chao Phraya River. Continue sightseeing to the City Pillar Shrine. This shrine was built by King Rama I to mark the new capital, Bangkok. Drive around The Giant Swing - the unusual 200-year-old red swing outside Wat Suthat, which was once used in Brahmanic ceremonies to honour the highest God Shiva. Finish the day at Wat Saket (or The Golden Mount), where you will climb up 318 steps to a panoramic viewpoint. When you reach the top, you will be met with a 360-degree view of Rattanakosin Island.

In the afternoon, transfer to the train station for a trip to Ayutthaya. Upon arrival at the Ayutthaya train station, transfer by tuk-tuk to your hotel, where dinner will be served.

Day 4

Ayutthaya – Bike Tour and Night Train to Chiang Mai

Enjoy breakfast at the hotel, then explore the UNESCO Heritage Site of Ayutthaya by eco-friendly bike, visiting the highlighted temples of the city, such as Wat Yai Chaimongkol, Wat Mahathat (where the roots of a banyan tree have grown around a stone Buddha face) and Wat Phra Srisanphet. Proceed on a trip into the local community, where you’ll have the opportunity to sample an unusual local delicacy: candy floss roti. Lunch is served at a local restaurant.

In the afternoon you will have some free time to enjoy at leisure. In the evening, board an overnight train to Chiang Mai.

Day 5

Chiang Mai – Doi Suthep by Public Bus

Arrive at Chiang Mai station in the early morning where our tour guide will be waiting for you. Transfer to your hotel in LPG-powered vehicle. Breakfast at hotel.

Your day in Chiang Mai will begin with a drive to the mountain temple of Wat Phra That Doi Suthep by song-taew (an iconic public bus powered by LPG gas). This hilltop temple is the most famous landmark in Chiang Mai, standing 1,676 metres above the city. Climb up the staircase adorned with imposing Nagas (mythical Thai water spirits) to visit this exquisite golden pagoda. The sound of temple bells fills the air and the view overlooking the city makes for an irresistible photo opportunity. The next stop is Wat U-mong; a 600-year-old temple famed for its large painted pagoda and underground tunnel. Soak up the peaceful atmosphere and perhaps take the opportunity to talk with the abbot about Buddhism and Dharma. Lunch is served at a local restaurant.

In the afternoon transfer back to your hotel, check in and enjoy some free time at leisure. Dinner is served at the hotel.

Day 6

Chiang Mai – Doi Inthanon

Enjoy breakfast at your hotel. Continue by LPG-powered vehicle to one of the most fertile troves of natural treasure in Chiang Mai: Doi Intanon National Park. The invigorating mountain air, combined with the cool climate, makes this place a refreshing break from the city. Doi Intanon, standing 8,514 feet above sea level – is the highest peak in Thailand, and is probably the best-preserved in Thailand. It is extremely popular among bird watchers, with more than 383 species of birds reported. We will stop at Wat Phrathad Chom Thong with its holy relic and ancient treasures, Wachiratharn Waterfall, and the twin chedi. A short trek along Michael’s Trail offers a beautiful and unforgettable experience. Lunch on this tour is served picnic-style.

In the afternoon, transfer back to your hotel for dinner.

Day 7

Chiang Mai – City Tour by Trishaw – Night Market

Breakfast is served at the hotel. Next, enjoy an eco-friendly trishaw trip around Chiang Mai Old City; a green way to get around and also a great way to support the local population. Take a slow ride while enjoying the charming views along the way. Explore the old city riding along the many temples in the old city, such as Phra Singh temple, Chiang Man temple, Tha Pae Gate and Chedi Luang temple.

Lunch is served at a local restaurant before returning to the hotel. Afternoon is free at leisure.

In the late evening, leave your hotel by public transport for a local dinner at the Chiang Mai Night Bazaar. Hunt for hill tribe handicrafts and local products before returning to your hotel.

Day 8

Chiang Mai – Mind & Soul and Elephant Sanctuary

This morning you will be picked up at your hotel at 7am by song-taew (an iconic public bus) and take a scenic drive along Suthep Road. On the way, stop by Kad Ton Payom, a flea market famed for its northern Thai cuisine. Afterwards, offer alms to monks to ‘make merit’ and enjoy a traditional-style breakfast.

The next stop is Wat U-Mong; a 600-year-old temple famed for its large painted pagoda and underground tunnel. Soak up the peaceful atmosphere and perhaps take the opportunity to talk with the abbot about the Buddhism and Dharma. Visit Wat Suan Dok and mingle with monks to learn about their way of life. Take some time out to learn basic meditation. Finish the adventure making an offering to the Sangha.

After this tour, we will continue our day by visiting Kanta Elephant Sanctuary, which uses a progressive and ethically responsible approach to elephant eco-tourism. The sanctuary acts as a platform from which to raise awareness and educate local and foreign visitors about elephant care, the plight of the Asian elephant and conservation philosophy known as “Elephant Conservation in Action”. The sanctuary offers visitors the opportunity to get to know each of the elephants and gain a special understanding of their daily lives and behaviours. Spend time with these amazing animals in a safe environment, experiencing daily life with the elephants in their home while also gaining an insight into their history. Lunch will be served here.

In the afternoon transfer back to your hotel, and enjoy time free time at leisure. Dinner is served at the hotel.

Day 9

Chiang Mai - Fang - Doi Pu Muen

Breakfast is served at the hotel, then head to the northern region of Chiang Mai. The first stop is to visit orchids and a butterfly farm along the way. Continue driving (for around 2.5 hours) to the Fang district. Arrive at Phumanee Lahu Home Hotel to learn the culture of the Lahu hill tribe and the amazing story of the Chaikor family. Here, you will also get to see exhibits of the traditional Lahu costumes and tools.

After lunch, drive to Doi Pu Muen by pick-up truck, heading uphill for about an hour. Doi Pu Muen is a highland region that is 1,306 metres above sea level, with cool temperatures all year round. Arrive at the Doi Pu Muen Community and explore the village of Lahu; this predominantly Christian tribe mainly grow tea and coffee as their cash crops. Visit tea plantations and have fun learning how to pick tea leaves, then heat and dry them the local way before enjoying a cup of the local brew. Enjoy dinner and tasting of local food with your host. After dinner, there will be a traditional Lahu dance and show.

Day 10

Doi Pu Muen - Fang - Chiang Mai

Start the day with a simple homestay breakfast. Join making and tasting “Khao Puk”, which is a traditional sticky rice bun cooked for special occasions and festivals. Bid farewell to your host before leaving the village and driving downhill to Pu Muen Waterfall after a short walk (approx. 15 minutes). Enjoy a Bamboo lunch cooked by the local guide. Then, an afternoon transfer takes you back to Fang by truck, followed by a minivan journey back to Chiang Mai. Dinner is at the hotel.

Chiang Mai – Phuket – Koh Yao Noi

Breakfast at the hotel. Transfer to Chiang Mai Airport for your flight to Phuket.

Upon arrival at Phuket Airport, the local representative will assist for your transfer by air-conditioned LPG vehicle to the pier. Board a boat to Koh Yao Noi and transfer to your hotel.

Breakfast is at the resort. Spend the rest of the day exploring the island’s remarkable tropical scenery on your own, or simply sit back and relax.

Optional Excursion: Local Island Living
With this tour, you can go back in time and experience the real local way of living in Koh Yao Noi in an unobtrusive way. You will learn about the life of a fisherman, rice farmer, coconut farmer and batik artist with this unique community tour. Lunch will be served in a local restaurant.

Koh Yao Noi - Phuket Departure

After breakfast at the resort, transfer back to Phuket Airport for your return flight.
