Breaking News: Lombok & Bali Tsunami Warning Lifted

Jakarta, Sunday, 5th August 23:00 (WIB) – Following today’s earthquake in Lombok, the Bali Hotels Association have released a statement based on the official report from Indonesia’s Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Council (BMKG).

The statement confirms that the tsunami warning has been lifted. There is currently no tsunami warning in effect for Bali or Lombok, and both islands remain safe for travel. The airports in both locations continue to operate as normal.

Earlier today, an earthquake hit Lombok at 18:46 local time, measuring 6.8 on the Richter scale. Several buildings were damaged and the tremors were felt in neighbouring Bali, where there has also been some disruption in traffic due to the quake.
