Indonesia’s flag carrier has successfully retained their title of World’s Best Cabin Crew at the annual Skytrax awards. This year’s award makes a record five consecutive successes for the airline, confirming their status as the world’s best in this particular category. Garuda was also named in the Top 10 World’s Best Airlines for 2018.

“The World’s Best Cabin Crew is among the most prestigious [of] airline awards. To have successfully secured this award for five consecutive years is unbelievably amazing, and we are enormously proud of this achievement,” said CEO & President of Garuda Indonesia, Pahala N. Mansury. “This [award] certainly has its own meaning for us; amid various operational performance challenges faced by the company, Garuda Indonesia successfully [has proved] its commitment [to] presenting the best quality of cabin crew service that is recognized world[wide],” he continued.

Mr. Mansury went on to thank the Garuda staff who had made the success possible, with particular mention for the cabin crews themselves, who have, in the words of the CEO, “embraced the challenge together to achieve a high level of ‘Service of Excellence’ and present Indonesian hospitality to the world.” He subsequently noted that the high standards of the cabin staff reflect a wider commitment to sustained and comprehensive development throughout the company.

“Finally, we would like to thank all Garuda Indonesia passengers for the support and trust [they have shown] towards Garuda Indonesia, which inspires us to continue to grow and fly even higher in the years to come,” added Mr Mansury.

Skytrax is an independent London-based flight service rating agency. Their annual awards measure 41 major aspects related to products and services provided by airlines. The recognition of Garuda Indonesia as “The World’s Best Cabin Crew 2018” is based on assessment conducted through the agency’s annual “Customer Satisfaction Survey”, which collates feedback from more than 18 million passengers relating to more than 245 international airlines.
