04 July 2017 | Written by Chris Alexander

For the fourth year in a row, Garuda Indonesia has won the award of World’s Best Airline Staff at the 2017 World Airline Awards.

Held on 20th June at the Paris Air Show, the awards are the world’s best-known and most prestigious aerospace event. Bosses from airlines around the world were in attendance to witness the ceremony, hosted in the French capital’s Air and Space Museum.

Skytrax, an international rating organization, conducted the survey, collecting votes and data from the period August 2016 to May 2017 in preparation for the ceremony in June. The final results came from a massive total of 19.8 million votes.

The Award for the World’s Best Airline Cabin Staff is one of the premier categories in the World Airline Awards and a much-coveted Quality distinction. It recognises the highest all-round performance of an airline’s cabin staff, and covers ‘hard’ services such as techniques and efficiency, along with the ‘soft’ service characteristics such as staff enthusiasm, attitude, friendliness and overall hospitality.

Asian airlines dominated the top positions in this Award category, with Qatar Airways and Emirates also featured in the world’s Top 10; Thai Airways and Singapore Airlines also joined Garuda in the Top 5.

In addition to the cabin crew award, Garuda Indonesia improved its position in the best airline category, climbing one spot to enter the top ten carriers on the World’s Best Airline list.
