A total of 462 events, covering 40 Sporting disciplines are scheduled, including badminton, volleyball, sailing, gymnastics, footballs, tennis, wrestling, archery and athletics, among many others. For the first time, eSports and canoe polo will also be contested as a demonstration sport; eSports is set to become a medal event at the 2022 Asian Games.

The motto of the games – which is also the title of the official logo – is ‘Energy of Asia’, modelled on Gelora Bung Karno Stadium and intended to symbolize unity among Asian countries.
