Kaum – Potato Head Beach Club, Bali

Opening September 2016 in Seminyak, Kaum – meaning “clan” or “tribe” in the Indonesian language – offers a unique take on the archipelago’s deep and varied culinary traditions. An authentic Indonesian restaurant, Kaum pays tribute to over 600 ethnic groups. The team behind Kaum travelled the vast 18,000 islands that make up Indonesia to find and document rare and indigenous cooking methods, ingredients and flavours. This culinary collective also developed relationships with ethnic tribes and collaborated closely with small-scale food producers. As a result of these efforts, both the menu and ambience at Kaum combine the exotic with the familiar, presenting a range of flavours that accurately reflect Indonesia’s heritage.
