Marriott Opens Their First Hotel in Indonesia
20 February 2018 | Written by Chris Alexander

Marriott Hotels have opened their very first property in Indonesia; the brand-new Yogyakarta Marriott Hotel, strategically placed in the heart of Java.

The hotel is conveniently located just 20 minutes from Adi Sutjipto International Airport, an hour’s drive from Borobudur and only minutes from both Hartono Mall and Jalan Malioboro. Yogyakarta Marriott Hotel therefore offers guests a broad range of entertainment, amenities and experiences, all within convenient reach of the hotel’s facilities.

Yogyakarta Marriott Hotel features 347 guestrooms and suites, each combining chic decor with Javanese-inspired flourishes and inviting views. Premium amenities fill each room, including marble bathrooms, mini-refrigerators, sofa beds and 24-hour room service. Business travellers can stay connected with the hotel’s free Wi-Fi and convenient workstations.

In addition, the hotel offers an indulgent spa and outdoor swimming pool, along with three dining venues: all-day dining buffet restaurant Yogyakarta Kitchen; Taman Sari Bar & Grill; and the Lounge for casual cocktails. For business travellers, an extensive array of meeting facilities cater to professional functions; the hotel boasts one boardroom, seven meeting rooms, several pre-function areas and a 1,870-sqm pillarless ballroom – the largest of its kind in Yogyakarta.

Mike Fulkerson is the Vice President of Asia-Pacific for Marriott International. “Indonesia is one of our fastest-growing source markets for both domestic and international travel,” said Mr Fulkerson. “It is only fitting that the Yogyakarta Marriott Hotel is in such a historic and culturally significant destination,” he continued.
