03 October 2016 | Written by Chris Alexander

Garuda Indonesia has opened a new service connecting Denpasar, Bali and Maumere, Flores, starting from 22 September 2016.

Garuda will fly four times per week from Bali to Flores, on Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and Sunday. The new flights will leave Bali at 7:00 am and land in Maumere at 10:00 am local time. The return flight from Maumere will leave at 10:55 am and land in Bali at 12:55 pm

The manager for Garuda Indonesia in Bali, Micky Irfandi, told RadarBali.com that the new service represents the airline’s support for the government program to achieve 20 million tourist arrivals to Indonesia by 2019 and its efforts to meet the demand from many European visitors to visit and explore the eastern end of the archipelago, particularly Flores Island.

Mr. Irfandi added that the new service would be using ATR aircraft with a seating capacity of 70 passengers. Garuda is confident that within two to three months the service will achieve an occupancy rate of 85%.
