Panorama Destination attended the annual Expo Indonesia in Mumbai, represented by Outbound Konnections.

The event, which is set up to promote trade, tourism and investment opportunities, aims to develop bilateral relations and cooperation between Indonesia and India.

Expo Indonesia 2016 took place in the stylish surroundings of the World Trade Centre (WTC) in Mumbai and was inaugurated by Subhash Desai and Saut Siringoringo; the Minister of Industries for the Government of Maharashtra and the Consulate General of the Republic of Indonesia, respectively.

At the exhibition there were B2B Meetings for trade and investments and tabletop meetings for leaders from the travel and tourism industry. The event also featured numerous seminars on trade, investment and tourism, along with the launch of a new book entitled “Ganga to Mekong: A cultural voyage through Textiles”.

Many Indonesian companies participated at the two-day exhibition to showcase various products from the archipelago; along with tourism highlights from around the country, there were examples of Indonesia’s finest furniture, textiles, health-care products, food, home-care products, batik and handicraft.

In addition to some excellent networking opportunities, Expo Indonesia 2016 provided many insights into the future of tourism between these two great nations. Garuda Indonesia announced they will launch a new direct flight from Mumbai to Jakarta starting later this month, in response to growing demand from Indian outbound tourists.

Panorama Destination’s presence at Expo Indonesia 2016 in Mumbai is indicative of the company’s growing influence in the region, along with its commitment to developing Indonesian tourism in new markets. Thanks to fruitful collaboration with Outbound Konnections, Panorama Destination is set to welcome many new guests from India to Indonesia in the coming months.
