Park Hyatt Coming Soon to Jakarta
24 January 2018 | Written by Chris Alexander

Park Hyatt Jakarta is expected to open its doors in the first half of 2018 and will be the first Park Hyatt branded hotel in Indonesia, bringing new levels of luxury, dining and entertainment options to the nation’s capital. The hotel will feature a range of event venues, making it an ideal location for intimate and stylish events such as weddings, corporate functions and sophisticated social gatherings.

Located in the heart of Jakarta at MNC Center, Kebon Sirih, the Park Hyatt Jakarta will occupy the top 20 floors of the 37-storey MNC Media Tower, ensuring panoramic views of the city. In addition to its extensive event provision facilities, the hotel will feature a total of 221 guest rooms. Guests will be able to enjoy highly personalized, intuitive and fully engaged service; renowned art and design; a profound reverence for culture; and exceptional food and wine.

PT MNC Land Tbk (MNC Land) and Hyatt Hotels Corporation first announced the project in March 2017. Mr. Hary Tanoesoedibjo, Chairman and CEO of MNC Group, commented, “We look forward to adding Park Hyatt Jakarta to our portfolio of landmark hotels. We believe in working with the best from around the globe to push the envelope and bring even higher quality standards of guest experiences to Indonesia. We are confident that Park Hyatt Jakarta, along with the other facilities in MNC Media Tower, will deliver on this promise and once again cement MNC Land’s reputation as a world-class developer.”

In preparation for the grand opening, Park Hyatt Jakarta has announced the appointment of Fredrik Harfors as General Manager, effective immediately. Harfors has more than 16 years of experience with Hyatt Hotels and Resorts, most recently in his capacity as Hotel Manager at Park Hyatt Bangkok, which opened in May 2017. Having previously held positions at Park Hyatt hotels in Saigon and Sydney, he has over 7 years’ experience with the Park Hyatt brand as well as an understanding of the Indonesia market from his 4-year tenure at Grand Hyatt Jakarta.

“I’m thrilled to be returning to Indonesia, and excited to be part of the opening team for the first Park Hyatt hotel in the country,” said Fredrik. “I’m particularly looking forward to introducing local and international guests to the brand’s home away from home concept, which will bring together our personalized luxury philosophy with genuine Indonesian hospitality to Jakarta in the coming year,” he continued.

Park Hyatt Jakarta will join the four existing Hyatt-branded hotels in Indonesia: Grand Hyatt Jakarta, Grand Hyatt Bali, Hyatt Regency Yogyakarta and Hyatt Regency Bali, which is currently undergoing renovation.
