In Indonesia, the emergency services and procedures are not as immediately available or obvious as in many tourists’ home countries, so in the event of an accident, they’re usually unclear what to do. Consequently, tour operators and guides often become the first port of call in an emergency.
As such, it’s important we have the right information at our fingertips. At best, this knowledge can enhance the reputation of our organization; at worst, it could impact the safety and wellbeing of our clients, or even be the difference between life and death.

Due to traffic, infrastructure and limited coverage by the emergency services, it is generally faster to get a taxi and drive to the nearest hospital or medical centre, rather than waiting for an ambulance.
