AirAsia has won the coveted title of World’s Best Low-Cost Airline title for the 11th consecutive year at the Skytrax World Airline Awards 2019. Based on a survey of over 21.6 million customers spanning more than 100 nationalities, the awards reviewed a total of more than 300 airlines around the world between September 2018 – May 2019.
The Skytrax World Airline Awards also named AirAsia as Asia’s Best Low-Cost Airline and the World’s Best Low-Cost Airline Premium Cabin for its premium flatbed, available on widebody long-haul AirAsia X aircraft.
“It’s an honour to be recognised by Skytrax for the 11th consecutive year for our commitment to providing affordable travel and guest-obsessed service,” said Datuk Kamarudin Meranum, AirAsia Group Bhd executive chairman.
“The fact that these awards are based on direct feedback is gratifying and wonderful recognition for the Allstars (AirAsia employees) who put so much effort and commitment into service excellence for our guests,” Kamarudin Meranum continued.
AirAsia was founded in 1993, to serve as a pioneer of low-cost travel in Asia Pacific. The airline currently flies to more than 130 destinations across Asia and beyond. The airline has received numerous awards for innovation, operational safety, customer service, and employee and workplace excellence.
