Tourism Malaysia Dives Into New Scuba Campaign
31 May 2023 | Written by Chris Alexander

Tourism Malaysia has splashed out on an ambitious new promotional campaign, aimed at showcasing the country as a premier diving destination. The campaign features a promotional video, a contest and a range of bespoke diving packages for visitors to explore and enjoy.

The centrepiece of the promotional campaign is a captivating 4-minute video, entitled “Dive into the Unimaginable”. It takes viewers on an underwater adventure to some of Malaysia’s top dive sites, including the islands of Tioman and Aur in Johor, Kapas and Perhentian in Terengganu and Sipadan in Sabah.

To accompany this promo video, Tourism Malaysia has prepared 41 new diving tour packages that cater to all tastes and levels of ability. From beginners on discovery dives to experts in search of elite-level scuba adventures, the new range offers something for everyone. Many packages also include meals, transport and accommodation.

These 41 new packages will be promoted through social media and via more traditional offline channels. Travellers will also have the chance to win tours as prizes by participating in Tourism Malaysia’s new competition.

As explained by Datuk Musa Yusof, Deputy Director-General (Promotions) of Tourism Malaysia, “we have organised an online contest in which participants can share their videos and pictures of their best experience indulging in scuba diving in Malaysia and stand a chance to win special diving packages and more.”

Yusof was speaking ahead of the Malaysia International Dive Exhibition (MIDE), held at the Malaysia International Trade and Exhibition Centre (MITEC) in Kuala Lumpur from 26-28 May. The event provided the ideal launch pad for Tourism Malaysia’s new diving packages and the video contest. It was attended by around 12,000 visitors from around the world.

With many more promotional events to come in the months ahead, Malaysia is expected to attract more international attention to its underwater wonders, and develop its reputation as one of the world’s top diving destinations.
