In a digital initiative endorsed by Tourism Malaysia, the Visit Malaysia 2020 campaign has launched a brand-new website to promote the attractions and destinations visitors to Malaysia can expect to enjoy in the New Year.
The campaign sets out to inform international travellers and agents about Malaysia’s numerous tourist attractions, including recommended destinations, ‘must-try’ meals, travel itineraries, and things to do in Malaysia. Users are able to read informative articles, categorised into adventure, wildlife, nature, islands and beaches, waterfalls, caves and forests, food, and family. Other information such as deals and events in 2020 are also featured.
“With an enhanced digital experience and experiential content, we hope to entice more international and local tourists to visit the various destinations in our country, in support of Visit Malaysia 2020,” says YBhg. Datuk Musa Yusof, who is Director General of Tourism Malaysia.
A unique feature of the website campaign is the “Insta Worthy” section, which is powered by user-generated content (UGC). Travellers’ Instagram photos and videos are featured in this section. Tourism Malaysia explains the goal of including this section is to strengthen their relationship with the online travelling community, especially millennials.
Additional features are also slated for future development on the site, while the content will be updated regularly to provide fresh news and travel inspiration.
