Ethiopian Airlines recently began operating services to Jakarta, Indonesia and with the launch of the new route, has opened up connectivity between the two countries. Panorama Destination finds great tourism potential from developing countries in Africa. The company has already been serving group tours from South Africa to Indonesia for several years.
“We are excited to explore new markets in Africa,†said Ricky Setiawanto, Director of Business Development of Panorama Destination. “Ethiopia itself has been showing great potential and economic growth in recent years and we see this as the beginning of further development for Indonesian tourism in Africa.â€
Ethiopian Airlines have appointed Panorama Destination as its tour operator in Indonesia through their Ethiopian Holiday programme. The first group tour arrived today (21/07) with a total of 50 tourists from Ethiopia. The group will spend a total of eight days in Indonesia, exploring Jakarta and Bali. Ethiopian Airlines and the company have mutually agreed to operate the group trips from Ethiopia for the next two years, with the three weekly flights connecting Addis Ababa and Jakarta.
“We started serving flights to Indonesia in July 2017, and since then we have seen great interest to visit Indonesia,†said Zebiba Miftah, Area Manager Indonesia of Ethiopian Airlines. “We are looking forward to working with Panorama Destination in bringing tourists from Ethiopia and surrounding countries to Indonesia, giving them the best experience of the country’s culture and nature,†he continued.
The Indonesian Government has been engaging in substantial tourism promotion of Indonesia around the world. Moreover, the weakening of the Rupiah against the US Dollar has also brought another advantage for the tourism industry in Indonesia, as it makes the archipelago a more affordable destination. The value of comparatively cheaper accommodation also makes Indonesia more attractive.
Panorama Destination is striving to achieve its target this year, to bring more foreign tourists to Indonesia and ASEAN. The company is exploring new markets and expanding regionally, offering unique services and experiences to the world.
