03 April 2018 | Written by Chris Alexander

Borussia Dortmund and Thailand-based regional airline Bangkok Airways have signed a deal together that aims to leverage branding collaboration of the two companies and extend their respective market coverage. Bangkok Airways is expected to bring additional co-branding campaigns in Thailand and Southeast Asia to the table, whilst the airline’s affiliation with the eight-time German champions will in turn enhance their exposure and standing in a key European source market.

Carsten Cramer, Chief Marketing Officer of Borussia Dortmund, said, “Bangkok Airways have strengthened their award-winning position over the last couple of years in Asia. Both of us are ambitious and aspiring brands and are looking forward to introducing our cooperation across Bangkok Airways’ key markets.”

Bangkok Airways’ President, Mr.Puttipong Prasarttong-Osoth added: “With its strong global brand presence and a huge fan base, we believe that to partner with Borussia Dortmund will strengthen Bangkok Airways’ brand image as Asia’s Boutique Airline as well as make the airline better known across Asia and Europe, which are our main customer bases.”

The deal, which is set to last for a total of two years, permits Bangkok Airways to use player images in marketing materials and social media communications, with additional benefits including legend appearances and BVB branding at Bangkok Airways’ own airports in Koh Samui, Trat and Sukhothai in Thailand.
