Bangkok Airways has been named “World’s Best Regional Airline 2019” and “Best Regional Airline in Asia 2019” at the recent Skytrax World Airline Awards. The event was held at the Paris Air show in Paris, France.
“We would like to thank all the voters for continued support and confidence that you have for us,†said the President of Bangkok Airways, Puttipong Prasarttong-Osoth. “These awards offer a great deal of encouragement for everyone at Bangkok Airways to continue to deliver the best to our passengers,†he continued.
Puttipong Prasarttong-Osoth also stated that Bangkok Airways will continue to provide high-quality service and safety to make sure every journey is an exceptional one. The Skytrax World Airline Awards are considered a global benchmark of airline excellence, with results based on the votes of global passengers.
In 1968, Prasert Prasarttong-Osoth set up an airline business in his company, Krungthep Sahakol Company Limited. In 1984, he founded Sahakol Air, which was later changed to Bangkok Airways. The airline has won the “World’s Best Regional Airline†at total of five times (2014 and 2016 – 2019), as well as “Best Regional Airline in Asia†on several previous occasions.
