Bangkok to Welcome Second Centara
24 September 2020 | Written by Chris Alexander

Centara Hotels & Resorts have announced they will open their second hotel in Thailand’s capital, following the signing of a hotel management agreement with Amorn Patana Asset. The hotel is expected to be completed and start welcoming guests by July 2022.

Named Centra by Centara Hotel Bangkok Phra Nakhon, the project will become Centara group’s eighth property in Thailand and the second in Bangkok, joining the Centra by Centara Government Complex Hotel & Convention Centre Chaweng Watthana.

The ambitious new build, which combines renovations of the existing site and the construction of new facilities, will feature two low-rise buildings and a total of 170 guest rooms and suites. Centred on a spacious courtyard, additional facilities on offer at the hotel will include a lobby lounge, restaurant, outdoor swimming pool, fitness centre, banquet room and extensive meeting spaces for MICE tourism.

The deal represents a lucrative partnership between two of Thailand’s biggest players in the hotel and building development sectors. It has been met with enthusiasm and mutual appreciation on both sides.

“As a traveller, we have always chosen to stay with Centara, and now in our capacity as owner, we appoint Centara our hotel operator with total confidence,” explains Picharat Chiemmanisakul, managing director of Amorn Patana Asset, following the signing.

“We are delighted to be working with Amorn Patana Asset for our second Centra by Centara property in Bangkok,” says Thirayuth Chirathivat, who is chief executive officer of Centara Hotels & Resorts. “Centra by Centara’s [delivery of] excellent value and experiences make this the ideal brand for guests looking to explore this historic district in Bangkok,” added Centara’s CEO.

Senior management teams from Centara and Amorn officially inked the agreement for the new hotel during an official signing ceremony, held at Centara Grand & Bangkok Convention Centre at CentralWorld earlier this month.

Representatives from Amorn and Centara agree that with their shared experience and development credentials, combined with the attractiveness of their newest hotel’s location, the project will be an irresistible proposition for returning international tourists.

“Travellers can’t really come to Bangkok without visiting the many attractions in Old Town,” says Mr. Chiemmanisakul. “We look forward to welcoming them to Centra by Centara Hotel Bangkok Phra Nakorn, which will bring a fresh vibe to the fascinating neighbourhood,” he added.
