Nok Air Announces New Flights From Bangkok to Mae Hong Son
26 February 2018 | Written by Chris Alexander

In a government-backed effort to facilitate access to secondary destinations throughout Thailand, Nok Air will commence operating a series of new flights connecting the nation’s capital to seldom-visited Mae Hong Son.

From 25th March 2018, Nok Air will run services three times per week between the two destinations, departing from Bangkok on Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays. The new schedule is ideal for travellers who are visiting Bangkok but would like to combine their stay with a short weekend away in a more remote and undeveloped location.

The area surrounding Mae Hong Son has a growing reputation among international tourists, thanks to its combination of natural and cultural attractions; visitors can explore highlights such as the region’s remote valleys, then continue overland to neighbouring Pai and Chiang Mai. Known as the Mae Hong Son Loop, the drive features wonderful scenery and a mountain road that boasts 1,864 hairpin bends end-to-end.

The new flights by Nok Air will be served by 72-seat ATR72-500 aircraft, departing from Bangkok at 0730 and arriving in Mae Hong Son at 0920.
