Thai Lion Air Confirms New Luggage Allowance
21 January 2019 | Written by Chris Alexander

Thai Lion Air has introduced new luggage policies, which will be applied to all tickets starting from 15th January 2019. Passengers travelling with Thai Lion Air will now be permitted just one main item of cabin baggage (not exceeding 7kg (40 x 20 x 20 centimetres). Passengers will also be required to get cabin baggage labels to avoid excess baggage at gates.

The airline will no longer be providing free checked baggage allowance to economy class tickets. Passengers were previously permitted 20kg checked luggage and 10kg carry-on. Passengers can purchase excess baggage weights of 5, 10, 15, 20, 25 ,30 and 35 kg, but total baggage allowance cannot exceed 45kg (free baggage allowance included). Each luggage item’s weight cannot be over 32kg. Any pre-paid baggage must be purchased at least four hours prior to the scheduled departure time.

Thai Lion Air is a Thai low-cost airline, operating with Thai partners as an associate company of Lion Air of Indonesia. The carrier operates from Bangkok’s Don Mueang International Airport, with plans to serve domestic and international scheduled flights from other cities in Thailand. Its head office is currently centred in the Don Mueang District of Bangkok.
