Radisson Expansion Begins in Cam Ranh Bay
16 December 2019 | Written by Chris Alexander

Radisson Blu, a member of Radisson Hotel Group, has opened a brand-new luxury beachfront resort in Vietnam, while also unveiling plans for several more builds in the next few years. The Radisson Blu Resort Cam Ranh will be the group’s second seafront resort in the country, following Radisson Blu Resort Phu Quoc.

Located on Long Beach in the Khanh Hoa province of Vietnam’s south-central coast, the new Radisson Blu Resort Cam Ranh features a total of 292 rooms, suites and pool villas, ranging in size from 45 – 140 square metres. The resort also features six stylish restaurants and bars, along with a spa, fitness centre, outdoor infinity pool and water sports facilities. For MICE travellers and event organisers, the resort offers a Grand Ballroom that can seat up to 385 people. The resort is conveniently located just 10 minutes’ drive from Cam Ranh International Airport.

“We are delighted to introduce guests to Radisson Blu Resort Cam Ranh, our new jewel on Vietnam’s golden coast,” said Peter Tichy, who is the General Manager of Radisson Blu Resort Cam Ranh. “With a beachfront setting, outstanding accommodation and world-class facilities, we are confident that this will become a sought-after destination for couples’ escapes, family vacations and memorable events, including weddings. We look forward to welcoming the world to Cam Ranh Bay,” he added.

Tourism is experiencing a major boom in Vietnam, driven by a strong economy, record visitor levels and expanding infrastructure. Khanh Hoa province alone welcomed 2.8 million international visitors in 2018 and leisure travel spending is forecast to increase 6% per year over the next decade. Vietnam welcomed 11.3 million international visitors in the first eight months of 2019, representing an 8.7% improvement on the same period in the previous year.

This upward trend is expected to continue and even accelerate in years to come; the International Air Transport Association (IATA) forecasts that Vietnam will be the world’s fifth fastest-growing aviation market over the next 20 years, adding 112 million annual passengers. Hotel development is also booming, with STR revealing that nationwide room supply is set to surge by almost 30%.

With such rapid growth rates in all areas of Vietnam’s travel and tourism industry, Radisson Hotel Group envisages exciting opportunities for its brands’ expansion nationwide. They have confirmed five additional projects are already in the pipeline: Radisson Blu Hoi An; Radisson Blu Resort, Quy Nhon; Radisson Resort Phu Quoc Long Beach; Radisson Hotel Danang; and Radisson Hotel Quang Bin.

In 2Q2020, Radisson Hotel Danang will open in the city’s central Phuoc My Ward, offering 182 rooms and suites, a restaurant, lounge, spa, fitness centre, a swimming pool with pool bar, and meeting spaces. Situated on the seafront city of Dong Hoi, Radisson Hotel Quang Binh will open in 1Q2021, featuring a restaurant, lobby lounge, swimming pool, fitness centre, ballroom and meeting spaces. Slated to open in 2023, Radisson Blu Resort, Quy Nhon will be located on Vietnam’s south-central coast in Binh Dinh province. The resort will offer 120 rooms and suites, and 160 villas, as well as an array of leisure facilities, restaurants, bars and function spaces.

Radisson Hotel Group is one of the world’s largest hotel groups, with more than 1,100 hotels in destinations around the world operating under seven distinctive brands: Radisson Collection, Radisson Blu, Radisson, Radisson RED, Park Plaza, Park Inn by Radisson and Country Inn & Suites by Radisson.
