Three-Fold Expansion for Fusion Hotels
25 November 2019 | Written by Chris Alexander

Fusion have confirmed plans to triple the number of properties in their Vietnam portfolio over the next three years, with 10 new hotels and resorts set to open nationwide.

The first of the new properties will be Fusion Suites Vung Tau, due to open its doors in early 2020. Located at a prime beach destination within reach of Ho Chi Minh City, the resort will feature a total of 100 apartments and 71 suites, along with a spa, yoga studio, rooftop infinity pool with cocktail bar, and the Suites’ signature Fresh Restaurant.

By the third quarter of 2020, Fusion Maia Quy Nhon is expected to make its debut as the first in a line of Fusion properties focused primarily on cuisine. These locally influenced dining venues will take their inspiration from ingredients and recipes unique to the area; guests will also be able to tailor their gastronomic experience with a range of culinary encounters, including farm- and sea-to-table dining, local food tours, cooking classes and pop-up destination dining.

Towards the end of the year, Fusion Resort Quang Binh is also expected to start taking bookings. Located at the gateway to the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Phong Nha – Ke Bang National Park, the hotel will feature 60 private plunge pool villas, a complimentary spa and a range of dining options.

“Food is an integral part of any holiday adventure,” explains Peter Meyer, who is the CEO of Fusion. “We want to take guests beyond well-known dishes like pho and banh mi, educating them on the histories of these iconic foods and other lesser known regional specialties,” he added.

Mr. Meyer also went on to sketch out the bigger picture for Fusion’s development plans: “We see a tremendous opportunity to expand Fusion’s presence in the country; there are so many beautiful and largely undeveloped destinations in Vietnam.”

In an effort to bring their unique brand of wellness escapes to these destinations in 2020, Fusion will also launch their new HIIVE brand. Aimed at business travellers in industrial zones and developing areas, a total of five HIIVE hotels will open in the next three years, across four separate locations: Binh Duong, Bac Ninh, Hai Phong and Dong Nai.

Ho Chi Minh City has been identified as fertile soil for Fusion’s growth; a new hotel will soon open in the city’s culinary and cultural hub, with a total of 146 rooms adding to the nationwide growth in the Fusion portfolio. Elsewhere in Vietnam, Fusion will also open Fusion Resort & Villas Da Nang in 2021, providing an additional 157 rooms and 85 villas. The new build will join Fusion’s two other hotels in the city, namely the Fusion Maia Da Nang and Fusion Suites Da Nang.

Fusion currently has a portfolio of four resorts and two suite hotels in Danang, Hue, Phu Quoc, Cam Ranh, and Ho Chi Minh City, comprising around 550 rooms together. The expansion project will take this total to around 1,385, combining rooms, villas, suites and apartments.

Founded in 2008, Fusion Hotels is a Vietnam-based hotel group with an emphasis on health and wellbeing. The group was responsible for Vietnam’s first ever all-spa-inclusive concept, and has since evolved into a collection of unique wellness-inspired accommodation options, where healthy living takes centre stage.
