Vietnam Wins Big at the World Travel Awards 2025

Vietnam has strengthened its position as one of Asia’s most dynamic tourism destinations, after receiving major honours at the World Travel Awards 2025. The accolades recognise exceptional service, destination development and cultural appeal, highlighting Vietnam’s continued rise on the global travel stage.

Ho Chi Minh City was named one of Asia’s leading city destinations, praised for its blend of heritage architecture, contemporary culture and expanding urban tourism offerings. With its mix of colonial landmarks, bustling markets, creative cafés and riverfront developments, the city has become a favourite for both leisure and business travellers. Enhanced international flight connectivity and growing MICE facilities have further supported its international appeal.

Meanwhile, Vung Tau received top recognition as one of the region’s emerging seaside destinations. Known for its coastal promenades, island viewpoints and relaxed tempo, Vung Tau has benefited from upgraded tourism infrastructure, new beachfront accommodation and revitalised cultural attractions. Its proximity to Ho Chi Minh City also makes it highly accessible for weekend escapes and holiday stays.

These achievements come at a time when Vietnam is investing in sustainable and experience-led tourism growth. Local authorities and tourism partners are placing increased emphasis on cultural preservation, heritage interpretation, improved visitor services and environmentally responsible development. This strategy aims to ensure that growth benefits both local communities and the natural and cultural environments that define Vietnam’s identity.

Beyond its award-winning cities, Vietnam continues to offer travellers a diverse range of landscapes and experiences — from the limestone formations of Halong Bay and the terraced fields of Sapa, to the lantern-lit streets of Hoi An and the tropical coastlines of Phu Quoc and Con Dao. The country’s culinary heritage, artistic traditions and community hospitality play a central role in shaping memorable travel experiences.

Vietnam’s success at the World Travel Awards reflects not only the country’s natural and cultural attractions, but also the commitment of its tourism sector to quality service and continuous improvement. As international demand grows, Vietnam is well positioned to welcome visitors seeking culture, adventure, comfort and a deeper connection on their travels.
