Celebrating Saraswati Day with Our Panorama Destination Bali Team
Saraswati Day is a sacred day in Balinese Hindu tradition dedicated to honoring knowledge, wisdom, and the arts. At the Panorama Destination Bali office, the day was celebrated together with all employees through a traditional piodalan ceremony.
Piodalan is a sacred ceremony commemorating the anniversary or founding of a temple. It serves as an expression of devotion, gratitude to Ida Sang Hyang Widhi Wasa (the Almighty God), and a moment for spiritual purification of both individuals and their surroundings.
Held periodically, every six months (210 days) or once a year. Piodalan helps maintain harmony, strengthen the solidarity of the community, and remind people of the noble values that guide life.
At the Panorama Destination Bali office, there are sacred shrines known as Pelinggih Padmasana and Penunggu Karang/Jro Gede. Their Piodalan coincides with the holy day of Hari Saraswati, which occurs every 210 days (six Balinese months), precisely on Saniscara Umanis Wuku Watugunung. In 2026, this sacred day falls on April 4, 2026.
Before the Piodalan ceremony begins, a preliminary ritual called Mecaru is conducted at the shrine of Penunggu Karang/Jro Ged, believed in Balinese Hinduism to be the guardian of every courtyard or environment. This is followed by the Mereresik (cleansing) process, aimed at purifying the temple grounds and office surroundings (Bhuwana Agung) as well as the spiritual and physical cleansing of all employees participating in the ceremony (Bhuwana Alit) before the prayers take place.
On the same day, a blessing ceremony is also performed for all company vehicles (the fleet) as an act of devotion and gratitude to God. This ritual symbolizes spiritual purification, with the hope that safety and smooth prosperity will continue to accompany every journey ahead.
One day before the Piodalan, preparations take place, including the making of penjor, decorating the shrines, and Nunas Tirta (requesting holy water) from several temples within the traditional village area. These preparations are carried out to seek blessings so that the ceremony can be conducted smoothly and in accordance with expectations.
