CHILD PROTECTION POLICIES
Panorama Destination condemns all forms of child abuse and exploitation and collaborates with local and international law enforcement to prevent and address such crimes. We urge clients, partners, and staff to stay vigilant, recognizing signs of abuse or suspicious behavior, and report them appropriately.
Our Commitment
Child sexual exploitation is a global issue, with over 200 million children affected annually, according to the UN. As part of the Tourism Child Protection Code, we provide training to our guides, drivers, and staff, along with useful information for clients, to combat child exploitation in Southeast Asia.
Panorama Destination is committed to collaborating with clients, partners, suppliers, and industry peers to create a unified front against child exploitation, adhering to international regulations and prioritizing child protection in all our operations. We encourage everyone involved to be proactive in safeguarding children’s safety and reporting any potential threats immediately.
Responsible Tourism
Sustainable Tourism
We are committed to creating meaningful and sustainable experiences for our guests by choosing eco-friendly accommodations, engaging in community-based activities, and using low-impact transportation like trains and electric vehicles. By collaborating with local partners and suppliers, we ensure that our tours not only offer unique experiences but also support and protect the communities and environments we visit.
Sustainability in Our Supply Chain
To achieve sustainability, we involve the entire supply chain, including transport, accommodation, and service providers. We prioritize transportation providers who meet strict safety standards and use sustainable methods where possible. We prefer locally-owned accommodations, especially those with recognized sustainability certifications. Suppliers must complete a form to assess their compliance with our sustainability standards before contracting.
Our contracts include clauses to ensure compliance with local and international regulations on child labor, waste management, ecosystem protection, and anti-corruption. We encourage suppliers to participate in sustainability training and conduct regular on-site inspections to verify their practices. Additionally, all our guides receive sustainable tourism training and are Travelife certified to maintain responsible practices.
Responsible Restaurants
We emphasize the importance of food in cultural discovery by promoting local cuisine across all our destinations. We encourage dining in locally-owned restaurants and offer cooking classes through community-based schools or families. Our selection criteria focus on local ownership, traditional cuisine, and, when possible, venues that support social causes and use locally grown or organic products.
We are committed to ethical dining practices and do not promote or allow guests to choose restaurants that serve endangered species, such as shark fin soup, turtle eggs, or turtle dishes. This approach aligns with our values of sustainability and cultural appreciation.
Sustainable Souvenirs
One of the joys of traveling is shopping for souvenirs, but some souvenirs can harm the environment, involve child labor, or result from illegal activities. To address this, we’ve created a list of sustainable items that are safe to purchase and have trained our guides to help clients find the best places to shop responsibly.
We strongly discourage, and in some cases forbid, the purchase of souvenirs such as historical artifacts, products made from endangered animals, corals, plant species, and religious items. Our goal is to promote ethical and sustainable shopping practices while traveling.
