Destination: Thailand

A message from Panorama Destination Thailand

Warm summer greetings from Thailand!

As we enter July, Thailand is preparing for another strong tourism season, supported by a wave of new international air connections that will make the destination more accessible than ever in the months ahead. Among the latest developments, Virgin Atlantic has announced a new direct service between London and Phuket beginning in October 2026, while Vietnam Airlines, LOT Polish Airlines and EVA Air have all expanded their Thailand networks, further strengthening connections from Europe, North America and across Asia.

July brings several important cultural and religious observances in Thailand, including His Majesty the King’s Birthday, on 28 July; Asarnha Bucha Day, on 29 July; and Buddhist Lent Day, on 30 July. During this period, visitors can also experience the spectacular Ubon Ratchathani Candle Festival; one of Thailand’s most impressive Buddhist celebrations, it features elaborate wax sculptures, colourful processions and traditional performances marking the beginning of Buddhist Lent.

Our destination focus this month is Chiang Rai—a captivating region in Thailand’s far north known for its rich cultural heritage, mountain landscapes and distinctive artistic attractions. Beyond the iconic White Temple, visitors can explore hill tribe communities, tea plantations, scenic river valleys and the fascinating Golden Triangle, where Thailand, Laos and Myanmar converge. We also continue to promote our Unseen Thailand programmes, designed to showcase lesser-known destinations and authentic experiences beyond the country’s most famous tourist hotspots.

Within our team, we continue to invest in professional development, with Tour Leader Training already completed on 1 July and Phuket Local Guide Training scheduled for 21 July. We are also delighted to be welcoming a growing number of visitors from across Europe, including group and FIT travellers from Poland and the Netherlands, exploring itineraries throughout Thailand as well as multi-country journeys combining Thailand with Malaysia, Cambodia and Vietnam.

For travellers planning a summer holiday, July is an excellent time to discover Thailand. Koh Samui and the islands of the Gulf of Thailand offer some of the country’s best beach conditions during this period, with clear waters, excellent snorkelling and world-class diving opportunities. Meanwhile, Bangkok and northern Thailand remain rewarding year-round destinations, offering rich cultural experiences, outstanding cuisine and warm Thai hospitality.

We look forward to welcoming your clients and helping them discover the many wonders of Thailand.
