New Heritage Train Connects Hue with the Phong Nha Region
Launched on 28 August 2026, with regular services from 29 August. The new HQ1/HQ2 tourist train offers another way to connect Hue’s imperial landmarks with the landscapes of the Phong Nha region. The approximately 190-kilometre journey takes just over four hours, with stops including Dong Ha and Dong Hoi. For travellers exploring central Vietnam by rail, it adds a new option for combining cultural visits and nature-based experiences. Onward road transfers are required from Tho Loc to Phong Nha.

Da Lat Lien Khuong Airport Reopens
Following a closure for runway and taxiway repairs, Lien Khuong Airport resumed operations on 19 August 2026, thereby restoring air access to Da Lat. The reopening makes it easier to include the city’s cool highland scenery, coffee culture and architectural character in wider Vietnam itineraries. Individual routes and frequencies should be checked with airlines as services return.
