Vietnam’s central coast is preparing for another spectacular season as the Da Nang International Fireworks Festival (DIFF) returns from 30 May to 11 July 2026. Set against the glittering backdrop of the Han River, the annual event has grown into one of Asia’s most anticipated summer festivals, transforming Da Nang into a vibrant hub of music, culture and after-dark entertainment.
This year’s edition carries the theme “United Horizons” and will feature 10 international fireworks teams competing across six nights of performances. Countries including France, Japan, Italy, Germany, Portugal, China and Australia will join Vietnam in delivering elaborate pyrotechnic displays synchronised to music and storytelling, drawing visitors from across the region and beyond.
More than just a fireworks competition, DIFF has become a showcase of Da Nang’s growing reputation as a luxury leisure destination. Along the riverfront, rooftop lounges, beach clubs and five-star hotels host exclusive viewing events, while elegant dinner cruises glide along the Han River beneath the illuminated skyline. Many travellers now plan entire summer holidays around the festival, combining the evening performances with Da Nang’s beaches, golf courses, wellness retreats and nearby cultural attractions.
The city itself offers an ideal blend of urban energy and coastal relaxation. By day, visitors can explore the marble mountains, unwind along My Khe Beach or venture to the lantern-lit streets of Hoi An, located just a short drive away. As night falls, Da Nang comes alive with riverside cafés, bustling night markets and a growing collection of sophisticated dining and entertainment venues.
Each competition night will revolve around a different creative theme, including Nature, Heritage, Culture, Creativity and Vision, culminating in a grand finale on 11 July. The extended festival schedule also allows travellers greater flexibility to experience multiple events during a single trip.
With Vietnam continuing to strengthen its position as one of Southeast Asia’s most dynamic tourism destinations, DIFF 2026 promises not only dazzling fireworks, but also an immersive celebration of culture, hospitality and contemporary Vietnamese nightlife.
