Sixteen million foreign arrivals the target for 2025  

The Ministry of Tourism (Kemenpar) has set a target of attracting between 14.6 and 16 million foreign tourists to Indonesia in 2025. This target, announced during the 2024 Year-End Press Conference held at the Ministry’s office in December, represents a slight increase from the 14.3 million target set for 2024. “We are aiming for between 14.6 and 16 million foreign tourist arrivals next year,” said Minister of Tourism Widiyanti Putri.

Indonesia tourism promoted at Arabian Travel Market Dubai  

The Ministry of Tourism recently presented the Indonesian Pavilion at the Arabian Travel Market Dubai 2025 to promote Indonesian tourism to tourists from the Middle East. According to a press release from the ministry in Jakarta, the Indonesian Pavilion at the Arabian Travel Market Dubai, which took place from 28 April to 1 May, 2025 carried the theme Experiential Tourism. The Indonesian Pavilion at the event focused on promoting gastronomy, marine and fitness tourism services.

Bali: the heart of Government’s tourism plans for Indonesia  

The Indonesian government is committed to making Bali the heart of Indonesian tourism, leveraging its Quality Tourism motto to increase the number of tourist visits to the island. Tourism Minister Widiyanti Putri Wardhana conveyed this during her visit to the Jatiluwih Tourist Destination Area (DTW) in Tabanan, Bali, recently. The United Nations named this tourist area one of the best in the world in 2024.

Indonesia promotes new programmes at ASEAN Tourism Forum  

The Ministry of Tourism has been promoting new Indonesian tourism programmes at the Travel Exchange of the ASEAN Tourism Forum (ATF) 2025, which took place recently in Johor Bahru, Malaysia. The forum is considered the best opportunity to introduce new programmes which aim to develop tourism in Indonesia, according to the ministry’s deputy for marketing Ni Made Ayu Marthini. “The new programs include the clean tourism movement; digitalisation of tourism, or tourism 5.0; and development of special interest tourism attractions,” she said in a statement.
