Indonesia is on track for a record year of international tourism in 2025, smashing previous pre-pandemic levels. Research by the World Travel & Tourism Council suggests international visitor spend will reach IDR 344 trillion for 2025, almost 12% up on 2019 levels. This degree of growth underlines Indonesia’s position as a tourism powerhouse within the Southeast Asian region, says the WTTC.

Indonesian Tourism Ministry and Balinese Government to Build Up High-Quality Tourism  

The Indonesian Ministry of Tourism is teaming up with the provincial government of Bali for the further development of sustainable and high-quality tourism initiatives on the island. This cooperative effort is seen as a response to ongoing issues affecting the island destination, particularly the adverse impact of overtourism. In a statement released on Sunday, 20 July, tourism minister Widyanti Putri Wardhana pointed out that, as one of the country’s foremost destinations, Bali continues to be a focal point of the Indonesian tourism sector as seen in the growing number of both local and foreign tourists making their way there.

Wonderful Indonesia Ignites Italian Wanderlust  

Indonesia`s Tourism Ministry is promoting the “Wonderful Indonesia” campaign, which is being introduced and displayed in the historic streets of Rome. Taking place from 1–31 July 2025, this unique campaign includes an open top bus tour and strategic out of home (OOH) advertising, aimed at captivating Italian audiences and showcasing Indonesia’s stunning offerings and richness.
