In the first quarter of the year, Malaysia became the most visited country in the region, attracting 10.1 million foreign visitors. Thailand followed closely with 9.5 million visitors, while Vietnam and Singapore had 6 million and 4.3 million visitors, respectively.

They feature immersive storytelling and visual narratives to inspire travellers in the lead-up to Malaysia’s landmark Visit Malaysia 2026 celebration.

Sabah Prepares for Visit Malaysia 2026 Campaign  

Sabah is taking strategic steps to prepare for Visit Malaysia Year 2026 and Explore Sabah 2026/2027 by showcasing authentic, inclusive and impactful tourism experiences, said Datuk Seri Christina Liew. The State Tourism, Culture and Environment Minister said among them is to focus on expanding economic opportunities for Community-Based Tourism (CBT) operators and introducing innovative approaches to elevate the sector.
