Senate panel pushing Pha Taem, Sam Phan Bok onto global tourism map
A Senate committee has pledged support for improving transport links, tourism infrastructure and public information in Ubon Ratchathani, to raise the profile of Pha Taem National Park and strengthen Ubon Ratchathani Geopark’s bid for Unesco Global Geopark status. The committee inspected tourist sites in Ubon Ratchathani this past week and was briefed on tourism promotion, challenges and development opportunities, Senator Phisut Ratanawong, chairman of the Senate committee on tourism and sports, said on Sunday.

Thailand to roll out a THB 2.45bn tourism boost
Thailand plans three tourism-boosting schemes: a 1.75-billion-baht co-payment programme covering hotels, restaurants and attractions nationwide; 200-million-baht domestic airfare discounts for 400,000 seats; and a 500-million-baht international flight initiative targeting 487,000 visitors. All require Cabinet and committee approval before implementation, expected late 2026.

Thailand turns hidden heritage sites into new tourism opportunities
The Culture Ministry has selected 76 cultural treasures from across Thailand under its “Unseen Thai Thai” program to promote cultural tourism and create new economic opportunities for local communities through the “ROOT to RICH” concept. Culture Minister Sabeeda Thaised said the selections include 60 cultural tourism destinations and 16 festivals, traditions and community lifestyle experiences. They range from the 3,000-year-old Pha Daeng rock paintings in Kanchanaburi and the Pha Phueng Stone Forest in Kalasin to the laterite temple in Kamphaeng Phet, Krabi’s batik heritage and the Fire Polo tradition in Chaiyaphum.
